Snorkeling
Description
Snorkeling is the practice of
swimming through water
just below the surface, with the aid of swim fins and a diving mask equipped
with a snorkel tube. Objects and creatures in the water are seen
clearly without the distortion associated with viewing them from above the
water.
Scouts must be classified as Swimmers to participate in snorkeling
activities, and must be supervised by an instructor, a lifeguard, and an
observer. The Snorkeling BSA award may be earned.
