BSA SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

There are a number of BSA and troop safety requirements in place to ensure the safety of participants.
  • All youth and adult participants must be registered in a BSA position.
  • Youth may only share a tent with other youth who are within two years of the same age.
  • A current BSA health form is required for all participants.
  • Participants must meet BSA height and weight restrictions for high adventure treks.
  • Weather Hazards training is required for all adults.
  • Wilderness First Aid training is required for at least two adults in each crew.
  • Bear bag procedures must be properly followed.
  • All adults must have completed BSA youth protection training, Diocese Protocol training, and driver training.
  • A commitment letter is signed by each youth and adult participant.
