Covering the Cost of Scouting in Troop 202 |
As soon as your son joins Troop 202,
a Scout Account will be created for him. See the Checklist page of this New Families section for cost information to register. The annual cost to join is $140. This amount is pro-rated if a Scout joins part-way through the year, or if he has already paid annual dues in a Cub Scout pack and crosses over to the troop. There is a one-time $25 national application charge for a youth who is new to Scouting. The fee covers membership, meeting materials, use of troop campsite equipment (tents, stoves, etc.), and advancements (rank patches, merit badges). Members pay separately for each outing they elect to participate in. Any time you sign your son up for an outing, the cost of the outing is paid in full (or payment arrangements made) before departure. Payments may be made by cash, check to "Troop 202", or Zelle / Chase QuickPay to tr202treasurer@gmail.com. Several fundraisers are available during the year. Only one fundraiser (popcorn sale) is required. If you choose not to participate, an $80 fundraising fee is added to the re-charter cost. Listen for details in troop meetings and by email. |
