Mentor to Instructor

Incumbent:  Mr. Phillips - Map & Compass, Open - Knots & Lashings, Mr. Westbrook - Camp Cooking, Open - Fitness, Mr. Sonaji - First Aid, Mr. Considine - STEM

Role:
  • serve as mentor to the assigned Instructor
  • meet with the Instructor to set goals for his term that are consistent with his job description and the troop goals
  • encourage the Instructor to increase his knowledge of his subject area and to gather materials to enrich his teaching in the troop
  • coach the Instructor to be a resource to Scouts on a regular basis related to the topic of his assigned role, not just when making a presentation to the troop
