Mentor to Service Coordinator
Incumbent: Mrs. Marciano

- through attitude and example, promote service in Troop 202 as an important part
of the troop's identity

meet with the youth Service Coordinator to set appropriate goals for his
term, consistent with his job description and the troop goals
- identify adult and youth leaders who will manage individual service
activities and events (the leaders are already in place for some
recurring projects)
- understand the troop's policy on accepting new troop-wide
service projects
- coach the youth Service Coordinator in recruiting participants for service events or delegating to the
leaders of that activity
- anticipate and plan ahead to ensure adequate manpower and
supervision is available for recurrent troop-wide service events
- ensure that Youth Protection guidelines are followed during
execution of service projects
- understand and communicate client needs (or encourage leaders of
individual projects to do so) when service is
performed for an outside organization
- if needed, support the youth Service Coordinator to document projects and
hours completed so that hours can be properly reported to the troop
records and to the national BSA database
