Merit Badge Counselor
Incumbent: Contact the Scoutmaster, Advancement Chair, or Troop Committee
Chair to find a Merit Badge Counselor.

complete Youth Protection training, Diocese Protocol "Safe and
Sacred" training, and
Merit Badge Counselor Orientation before registering
- advise Scouts on merit badges as requested
- sign off merit badge requirements, being loyal to the
requirements of the badge as written, not adding to or subtracting
from the requirements
- follow Youth Protection guidelines, always making sure 2-Deep
Leadership and the Buddy System are in use
- do not counsel your own son or close relative on a badge unless
he is part of a group working on the badge together
