2017 National Jamboree

Description:	The National Scout Jamboree will be held from July 19 to July 28, 2017.  The Crossroads of America Council will take a contingent of 216 Boy Scouts and 36 Venturers to Jambo!  Scouts will be divided into six troops, one led by Mr. Thyen from Troop 202.  This event is only held once every four years.  Now is your time!
Status:	Sign-up is underway now. Slots are likely to fill up by end of May 2016.

What's There:	Join 40,000 other Scouts and leaders from across the nation at the 2017 National Jamboree!  Whitewater rafting and kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing and bouldering are just a few of the activities offered at the Summit.  There is also skateboarding, BMX, shooting sports, and zip-line challenge courses.  And that's just the beginning!  You will find forest canopy touring, buckskin games, SCUBA, rappelling towers, an American Indian village and more.  The opening and closing arena shows are not to be missed.  It's Scouting at its very best!
Age Requirement:	Boy Scouts 12 to 18 years old; Venturers 14 to 21 years old
Rank Requirement:	First Class rank or Venturing Award
Crew Size:	36 Scouts and 4 adults per troop; 6 troops from our council
Estimated Cost:	$1,600.00 including pre-Jamboree training weekend, troop    t-shirt, special patches for collecting and trading, troop and patrol equipment, transportation, food, and all on-site activities
Special Gear:	None; Personal sleeping, clothing, and eating items
Preparation:	- Participate in pre-Jamboree troop shakedown camp-out - Meet the medical, BMI, and fitness requirements
