Get ready to fund your Scouting activities and support our council!
Each Scout in Troop 202 is expected to support the annual popcorn sale by selling at least $200 of popcorn products.
Sales may be done:
- door to door
- to family and friends
- online via the Trails End app
- at a location of your choice, with permission from the property owner
- at Troop 202 group selling events or storefronts
If a Scout does not sell at least $200 of popcorn, the cost of registering for the next calendar year is higher by $80.
Scouts who sell more popcorn earn funds to help pay for their Scouting activities.
- The overall popcorn commission is typically about 32% to 36% of sales, depending on the total amount sold by Scouts in the troop.
- No commission is earned on the Scout’s first $200 in sales, but the fundraising obligation is met and the $80 fundraising fee is avoided.
- For sales from $201 to $300, the Scout receives 50% of the commission earned on those sales.
- For sales from $301 to $400, the Scout receives 60% of the commission earned on those sales.
- For sales over $400, the Scout receives 70% of the commissioner earned on those sales.
Example: A Scout sells $700 of popcorn and the troop’s commission rate is 32%.
- First $200 in sales: $0 to the Scout
- Next $100: $16 to the Scout
- Next $100: $19 to the Scout
- Remaining $300: $67 to the Scout
- Total earned for the Scout’s account: $102
